Headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation manufactures trucks, buses, and industrial engines for over 170 markets around the world, offering products ranging from the iconic light-duty Canter truck to Fighter and Super Great.

FUSO History

The brand name FUSO was originally used in 1932 with the first bus “B46” from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. On the occasion of the delivery of the B46 bus to the first customer, the Japanese Ministry of Railways, the company’s employees were asked to suggest a nickname.

Fuso Trucks are locally assembled in Kenya by Kenyans. Associated Vehicle Assemblers Limited (AVA) is the premier vehicle assembler in East and Central Africa. AVA launched first series of trucks nearly half a century ago, in 1977.
